The Birth of Ikaru and the Light Within Us

I have always been fascinated by lines, drawing, and art's unique ability to capture what words simply cannot explain. But Ikaru wasn't born on a canvas just for the sake of art. He was born out of a very deep, very human, and very personal need. He was born the day I realized that, in order to understand my own feelings and the world I wanted to leave behind for my children, I needed to create a mirror.

That mirror turned out to be a small mechanical robot. A humanoid with large, deep eyes, but with one particular feature: he has no mouth.

At first, some people asked me why I had designed him that way. How does a character who cannot speak communicate? The answer is simple: Ikaru doesn't need to speak because his mission is to observe and to feel. In a world full of noise, where everyone is screaming to be heard, Ikaru keeps a sacred silence. He doesn't tell you what to think; he simply looks at you, and in doing so, becomes a reflection of what you carry inside. If you are happy, his eyes shine; if you are melancholy, his silences keep you company. He is an emotional mirror of our own humanity.

The Engine Behind the Stroke: My Story

Although the universe of Ikaru unfolds today as a work of fiction—which I captured in the first book of our saga, "Ikaru: The Awakening"—every gear and every shadow of the character is built from real-life experiences.

Above all, this project is a tribute. It is my way of keeping the memory of my parents alive. Especially that of my father. He was a man who, with absolute love, an iron perseverance, and a level of sacrifice that I can barely comprehend today as a dad, raised three young children all by himself. He didn't give us corporate speeches; he gave us a daily example of what resilience and devotion truly mean. Ikaru carries that same silent strength.

It is also a love letter to the future, inspired by the fears, promises, and hopes I have for my children, and an eternal thank you to the friends and teachers who taught me to see the light in dark moments.

This Is Just the Beginning

Ikaru is not a cold brand, nor is it a passing trend. It is a living artistic project that seeks to remind us that, no matter the technology or how fast the world moves, the most valuable thing we have is our ability to connect, to feel, and to take care of our loved ones.

This blog is going to be our window into the workshop. Here, I will share the secrets behind the sketches, the stories of the 232 characters that make up Ikaru World, updates on the books, and the upcoming textile collections we are currently manufacturing.

Thank you for being here, for looking at Ikaru, and, above all, for allowing your own light to be reflected in him.

Welcome to the journey.
